For the umpteenth time, I'm complaining about the speed of which Blogger takes to load. It's crazy waiting for it to complete.
Anyway, visited Andrew's place for chinese new year, and went on a ban luck binge. Ok la, not really binge, since I recouped all my losses and broke even at the end. Every hand was 2 bucks, so means it's possible to lose or win quite a bit in a short time. I was doing pretty good at first, got about 10 plus bucks extra before the losing streak came in. Ended up losing close to 16 bucks, but recouped it with the grand finale. Set down 8 bucks, and declared my final round of the day. Whoop, won back my money, and I'm back to square one. Lol.
I never really won anything la. Usually I just break even, or at the most a few bucks extra. Nothing spectacular. (Excuse my usage of this phrase.) Even at mahjong, it's just playing. Well, I go with the mentality of losing all my spare change, so that's my limit. Once I hit bottom, that's when I tell myself I need to get myself out of the circle. Yeah, works fine with me.
Gambling's never been a problem for me, and probably never will, although sometimes it looks like I'm losing control over myself. I like to take measured (to somewhat a certain extent) risks. Lottery's kinda pointless in my opinion. I mean, what are the chances?
Ah, anyway, it's all in the name of the chinese new year festive mood.

Woo. And as expected, my angbao money really grew from the previous years. On top of that, there's this suspicious one from my cousin and cousin-in-law with a hundred bucks inside. That alone is weird enough. (I am usually not worth a hundred bucks.) My grandma got a fifty from her, which means I received fifty bucks more than my grandma, and that's weirder. Finally, my mum and I concluded she gave out the wrong packet to the wrong person. Lol, cannot blame, it's her first year after she got married, so first time giving out angbaos. I should have been the one getting the fifty bucks, but whatever la. My grandma ALWAYS get about a thousand. What's a crisp fifty dollar note to her? Lol.
Ya, and because of that, my gambling money increased quite a bit. Not gonna throw them out onto the table of course. Probably take out a few bucks and play around with them. I'm still in need of money. Ah. Always the 'poor scholar'. Heh.
Anyway, I realised I've been eating lots of cake these few days. Just the past week alone I've eaten about 3 chocolate cakes, on separate occasions. Keith's birthday we had one on thursday, then the next day we had Alicia's birthday, and yesterday I went over to Tze Yi's house to celebrate her birthday. This is too much. How many January babies are there anyway?
Gonna eat more CNY goodies. Updates later, should I grow fat. Argh!

Haven't been blogging for the past week, and it's already Chinese New Year, so might as well wish everyone a happy CNY. Yep.
Cool. Got back from my uncle's house for reunion dinner. My newborn niece is so damn cute. I think she recognises me. The way she fixes her eyes on you without blinking, you'll be so drawn to her. Then she cooes and stretches, and your heart just melts. Woo.
Anyway, had a good steamboat over at the house, and came back early to rest, watch TV and play games for a while. Not bad, but I gotta admit this year's CNY is not as fun as the previous years. Maybe because I missed the pre-CNY shopping for goodies. Or maybe because I missed it, my mum didn't buy enough goodies for me to eat. Argh, I miss ba gua, and my fricking house doesn't have it. Record-breaking, first time I haven't eaten ba gua 2 weeks before and after CNY.
Sigh. Looking forward to tomorrow though. Ang-bao-collecting time of the year. Woot. And since this year is the crucial year where half my cousins got married, I'm gonna get more angbaos. Heh.

I know too many January babies. Can't believe it. Birthdays after birthdays. I wonder if it's just a coincidence, or it's a known fact that Jan babies are the best.
Well, celebrated Ben's birthday on friday with a slice of mango cake, a whole chocolate cake and lots of coffee. He can't take caffeine if his life depended on it, so we bought lots of strong coffee for him to get high on. Alcohol doesn't work on him the way coffee does. Strange fact.
Went over to his room on thursday with half a cup of coffee that was brewed using 3 packets of 2 in 1 coffee. Then after he got high, we splattered the remaining of his mango cake on his face, then decided a block chase plus cake splattering was quite fun. I didn't get the bulk of it though.
Had the official chocolate cake celebration on friday after school. That was the official cake splattering event. Lol. Thursday's was just a preview. Chocolate cake was... bad. Lol. It looked like mud on your face, or on the parts of your body that have been smeared on. Well, I tried to siam, but I guess you can never avoid it totally. In the end, I realised I got cake on my hair, face and tee-shirt. And mostly it's done by *ahem* someone. I have yet to exact revenge. Lol.
Had sakae sushi, proudly sponsored by Ben. Quite fun, considering you have 12 peeps making a lot of noise in the restaurant taking pictures or just simply talking very loudly. I haven't gotten the pictures yet though.
Tomorrow will be Huiling's, but it'll be a much simpler affair. I expect more like chilling out and watching dvds. Felt quite bad I actually forgot about her birthday. Argh. (In fact, I have recently developed a knack for forgetting birthdays. Quite bad. Ever since my old phone conked out on me and the new one doesn't register birthdays, I've been quite lost. Will have to find a solution fast.)
Updates later.

Cool, finally found my tempo for studying, and now that school has finally been kicked into my systems, things are gonna get mundane again. Not that I don't look forward to a period of peace and order. Life is easier to handle this way. Lol. Anyway, I'm gonna try keep my head above my tutorials at least. Gonna need a bit of consistency.
Been doing almost the same things these few days. Waking up at about 8 plus, getting ready for loads and loads of lecture, inadvertently sleeping in about half of them, and trying to get my tutorials and lecture notes copied later on. (Nothing new, told ya things are gonna turn pretty boring from now on.)
CNY's coming soon, and because most of my cousins are blissfully married with babies, I'll probably get more ang baos (hopefully). Heh. Yeah, the age gap's quite big. I'm 12 years younger than the oldest one. Kinda freaky, because people around me are settling down, and I'm still schooling. I'm, for God's sake, 19, with a long way to go before I decide to tie myself down.
I think I better stop before I go rumbling rubbish again. Updates later.

Hectic week. Man, the weekend passes so fast. I think in school time passes doubly fast. Another 2 weeks and it's gonna be CNY. Can't imagine. I'm still haven't got back to studying mood, and I hope it's not too late yet. Need to catch up soon, if not it's deja vu all over again.
Performing for Jam fest tomorrow. Kinda rushed, coz the leader only approached me about a week ago, and we have 4 songs to prepare. Hope everything turns out fine. Anyway, will be looking forward to it.
Tired. Haven't been having gd long nights of sleep. Keep telling myself that I'll need to sleep earlier the next day, but somehow it just doesn't work out that way. Will have to find a way out of this vicious cycle. Argh. I'm losing my precious sleep now just clicking at my keyboard.
Laters.

It's back to school now. Pretty soon I should be able to adjust back to normal tempo, and the dust will settle. Right now I'm still busy with the first 2 weeks in school, lectures and stuff and things I need to sort through. I'm pretty glad things have come the way it is now though, but it's time for me to have a change in tempo.
This month will end most of the things I have on hand.

Hmm. Holidays came by and then went off without a lot of fuss. I didn't really think there was a holiday this time round. Then school started today, and I'm still not adapting to my timetable. Not gonna complain about my timetable though, it's the best one I've seen so far in my course.
I'm having mixed emotions now. I'm really glad school started already, because the activities in the holidays were driving me sick. But on the other hand, who likes school anyway? Lol.
Yeah.
